It has been 16 years since the events of 9/11 unfolded. Most of us remember exactly where we were when we saw the news footage of the fire raging in one of the Twin Towers and the plane hitting the second tower. Rather than looking back on this day with sadness, I choose to look back on the days and weeks following and be proud of how we all came together as one nation, undivided (if we can throw a little pledge at you all). Now more than ever, with international events leading the world into further turmoil and domestic events tearing apart our wonderful Country, we need to look back and remember what it means to stand as one. Please don’t take this as a political rant but instead as an emotional plea to love one another and remember that we live in an amazing time and in an amazing Country.
